Smart motorised curtains handle the harsh UAE sun for you. A quiet motor on the track opens and closes them by app, voice, schedule or daylight, and in most homes it fits straight onto your existing curtains. How do smart motorised curtains work?
Smart motorised curtains use a quiet motor on your curtain track to open and close them by app, voice, schedule or sunlight, no pulling cords. In the UAE they’re popular for managing harsh afternoon sun, heat gain and privacy across tall villa windows.
Most setups retrofit to your existing curtain track or rod, so you usually don’t need new curtains. A motor and a small hub bring them online; they then close automatically when the midday sun is strongest to keep rooms cool, and open gently in the morning. Can I automate my existing curtains, or do I need new ones?
In most cases you can keep your existing curtains. A retrofit motor attaches to your current track or rod and automates the movement, no new curtains or rails needed. We check your track type during the survey.
Are smart curtain motors noisy?
Quality motors are designed to run quietly, fine for bedrooms and living areas. We select motor types suited to your curtain weight and track so movement is smooth and low-noise.
Can curtains close automatically in the afternoon sun?
Yes. You can schedule them by time or trigger them with a sun/light sensor so west-facing windows close during peak heat, reducing heat gain and easing the load on your AC.
Do motorised curtains need a power point at the window?
Mains motors need a nearby supply, which we can arrange; battery and rechargeable motors avoid new wiring and suit retrofits. We recommend the best option for each window during the free survey.
Will they work with voice assistants?
Yes. Smart curtains link to Google Home, Alexa and Apple HomeKit, so you can say ‘open the living room curtains’ or include them in scenes alongside lighting and climate.
