A scene panel is a wall touchscreen for controlling rooms and triggering scenes by hand. A gateway (hub) is the brain that connects Zigbee devices and runs automations locally. Larger homes often use both; smaller setups may need only a gateway.

WiFi devices connect directly to your router and need no hub. Zigbee devices, common for sensors and some switches, need a gateway, which also improves reliability and range. We advise which you need based on your devices.

With a local gateway, core scenes and automations keep running offline. Cloud features and remote access pause until the connection returns. This local fallback is a key reason to add a gateway.

Common spots are the entrance (for Welcome/Away scenes), the majlis or living room, and the master bedroom. We position panels at switch height during the survey and wire them neatly into the wall.
